After Hurricane Sandy repair- Phase 1

As most of you know when Hurricane Sandy hit New York, New Jersey 5 months ago, it turned our lives upside down, inside out.  Our homes were uprooted, smashed and drowned to put in mild terms.  Since that fateful day, people have been trying tirelessly to repair the damages their homes have sustained.  There is a somber feeling in our beautiful beach community,  I am hoping that coming of Spring will bring some good spirits.  My family and I are still out of our house and eagerly waiting to return.  Unfortunately, it is going to be a long time before we go back home, there was structural damage which caused a domino effect in repairs.  Nevertheless, at the end of the day, we'll have a very strong house.

We are at phase 1 of the renovation… This entailed repairing all the structural damages inside and out.

It is all very surreal to be looking out of your house without a wall separating you from the inside and the outside!

I hope you stay tuned for the upcoming phases of my renovations!

Have a great weekend!

  1. I can't even begin to imagine what you must be going through. So often when a person's home suffers from some type of destruction they have family, neighbors and friends to rely on for support. But for families in your area everyone is experiencing a similar devastation. What an ordeal. I wish you many blessing in the coming months.

  2. Thank you so much! The destruction was unimaginable, I never thought in a million years that something like this could happen to us. We are strong, we will keep it together and it'll be better than before!

  4. Thank you kim! I already had tons of surprises, that is why half my exterior wall is off. In a way it was a blessing, because some support were compromised before. I'm happy it will be all new!
