Heather's house update

Hey there, I'm back!  In case anyone was wondering where I have been… Ha! I'm not even sure if anyone actually reads my post… Maybe one or two, I hope! lol. I haven't had much time to post lately because my bestfriend Heather and her family bought a house few minutes away from me and they were knee deep in renovations. The whole house was getting a well needed transformation.   My husband is the contractor for this renovation, so it has really been a fun project for all of us.  My sister is the kitchen designer and has her cabinet maker fabricating custom cabinetry for them.  New appliances, new fixtures, new cabinetry, a whole new look!   Heather's previous kitchen was done in a old world tuscan/traditional style with faux painted walls, wrought iron, deep colors,  it was beautiful… However, now she has a chance to achieve a whole new look… this time around she is going contemporary style, I love it!

The last days of the reno is upon us and this house has gone through major transformation in such a short time!  They installed gorgeous new Andersen windows throughout the house, three bathrooms have be reconfigured and made larger, installed new prefinished hardwood floors and the list goes on and on… House is looking amazing!!

Before... a dark and dingy kitchen...
Now… It's bright and airy!
Wall separating the kitchen and diningroom was taken out and a beautiful granite pennisula was added to accomodate new sink and seating in the kitchen.  Waiting for the cabinet doors to arrive, should be coming soon, can't wait!
Almost completed!

Old diningroom…

New diningroom!

Beautiful drum shade chandelier for the diningroom!

Livingroom before...

Now… New floors, windows, walls and fireplace makes for an awesome livingroom!
New fireplace was added and is being worked on  and new prefinished flooring was installed, looks awesome!

The tile they had choosen is spectacular! The fireplace is by Napoleon fireplaces, it has glass chips instead of logs which is a stunning alternative.

It is so exciting to go through the process of taking something old and dated and making it new and beautiful!  Have you gone through this type of renovations or maybe in a smaller scale? Isn't it wonderful or maybe not so much?

That's it for now… I'll be back with the finale soon!

Have a great day!
