Wrapping up 2012...

I can't believe the year 2012 is over… I had some great projects in mind to do this past year, for whatever reason I didn't accomplish half of my 2012 to-do list.  The list will just have to be added to the mile long list of project to do for 2013 (mostly because of Hurricane Sandy)!

Here are some of the projects done in 2012 that received the most views.

I have a lot of catching up to do as far as projects for the upcoming year.  I can't wait to get started!

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year!

Another Christmas gone by!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  I can't believe all the hustle and bustle for Christmas is over.  I say every year I am going to start earlier and be more prepared, but it never happens!  My husband and I are always scouring in the middle of Christmas eve night wrapping presents and preparing for Christmas Day dinner we host for our family and friends.  Well, it was all worth it, our Christmas Day dinner was a success and we enjoyed every bit of it!  I spend most of the day after Christmas cleaning, cleaning and some more cleaning.  I hope to be spending most of today resting, resting and more resting.  It is all wishful thinking, I'm sure my kiddos aren't going to have the same vision for me.

Well, here is an European-style waterfront estate in Massachusetts I happened to stumble upon that I am totally drooling over!  The graceful landscaping lined with perfectly manicured hedges are gorgeous.  I am not sure which part of this house is more beautiful, inside or out.  The owner of this estate had an European craftsmen to help design this rustic-yet-elegant home, the results are stunning.  The soaring brick wall in the livingroom, the dark stone countertops in the kitchen, barrel ceiling in the master bedroom are breathtaking.

This house also includes an infinity-edge pool and surrounding stone patios and breathtaking views of surrounding water from every inch of the property.  Oh, dare to dream!

Love the wood plank ceiling!
Incredible architecture!

Incredibly beautiful! Isn't it?

Oh Christmas tree...

Normally I would be happy its Friday, I look forward to the weekends to do thing with the family.  But, being that Christmas is in a few days I wish I had another week, I am so not ready.  We just had so much more to deal with this holiday.  Because of the damage caused by the  hurricane,  we had to move out of our house so that the house can be sanitized and renovated.  I don't expect to be in our house until spring, if I am lucky!  My husband is the contractor, ergo,  you know what they say about the shoemaker with holes in their shoes.  Anyway, we were lucky enough to move back into my previous house, the tenants had moved out few months ago.  We are set up with just bare necessaties, we have mattresses on the floor, no furniture except for folding table, chairs and I have almost 30 people coming for Christmas. Yippee!

Being that we didn't have any decorations, we bought just enough to decorate our tree and a little extra. Next year will do more, for now I'll have to show you our last years holiday decor.

Last year's decorations

I made this ornament with some silk hydrangea flower and foam ball.

Each year, my husband makes struffoli to bring to our neighbors.

My daughter made this wreath using a wire hanger and sandwich bags, isn't it beautiful?

This ornament was made with just gluing lace around a styrofoam ball.

I handpainted a store bought clear glass ornament and added some rhinestones, love it!

This year's decorations…

My sister picked up this cute little puffy bird and peacock from Lord & Taylor, Thank you Shan!

For my little princess!

I think the tree looks beautiful!

Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday!

Beautiful Wreaths!

Source: google.com via Nancy on Pinterest

I love wreaths, they welcome you into a home, decorate the front door, add interest to a wall and so on… What I love about them is that they can be made quite easily using evergreen, flowers, fruits, shells, ornaments.   Here are some amazingly beautiful wreaths I would love to find on my front door!

I love these beautiful wreaths, such great ideas.  I know I am a bit late with the wreath inspirations, that is how late I am with everything lately!  So much to do and so little time.
I hope you liked some of these wreaths and maybe you can use some of these ideas for next year.

Thanks to Huuricane Sandy,  I have to redo my entire house.  I have to replace most of my furniture in on my first floor.  I tried to salvage a few of the antique pieces I had that could never be replaced.   Although, I found these beautiful furniture pieces here I would love for them to find it's way into my home.

What do you think? Aren't they gorgeous? It is eclectic, that's me because I like everything!

Hope you are having a wonderful week!
